There is this poem I found, about horizons and lines and dots, a land surveyors…
Such a pity!
A couple of months ago I contacted Kie Ellens, who is curating an exhibition titled ‘horizon’ in Friesland, the Dutch province that has the most beautiful horizons in the world. I proposed a work where I’d construct a large landscape interactively, using the horizons people carry around in their heads. My proposal made it to the pre-final selection, but wasn’t included in the end. Such a pity! I did get on the long-list for a future exhibition, though. Kie’s idea is to make a connection between my work and that of Christoph Fink, who documents his travels on foot, bike, by train and plane in all kinds of interesting ways. I can see that this would make for an interesting dialogue. So: to be continued.
