Hi! This blog is written by me, Everdien Breken, student at the MaHKU, the International Masters program of the Utrecht Graduate School of Visual Art and Design. This weblog is my diary-style recap of this exiting year (2009 - 2010). Because: 'if you don't write it down - it never happened!'. In '87 I graduated at the TU Delft, so I am an engineer by profession. Afterwards my career was in ICT. I held several project management and management positions, mainly in the not-for-profit sector. In 2004 I started my own company: ECB Advies. Companies hire me as interim (project) manager, I also do health checks for projects and provide second opinons. The projects I do are usually a mix of organisation development and ICT, very often we use Internet technology as a tool. Check my page at Linkedin for a full professional profile. My interest in project management has led me to accreditation as a PRINCE2 TM trainer. At the moment I do PRINCE2 Foundation and Practitioner on an average of twice a month. Hands-on experience as projectmanager at Colours Internet company led to the request to develop and teach courses on internet strategy and internet project management. So I have a lot of opportunities to share my experience with others. As project manager and trainer I do projects for other people. Studying Fine Art at the HKU, the Utrecht School of the Arts, gave me the opportunity to work on my own projects. Training as an artist complements my training as an engineer and makes me more all-round. It provides me with 'engineering-type' questions and interests in the world of the arts, and with 'art-type' questions and practices in the field of project management, thus benifitting both. As I said, I use this weblog to keep track of things during this year's masters program. It serves as my external memory. On another site (check www.everdienbreken.org) I have documented the work I did at HKU in previous years.
