Taking a line for a walk
A new thing – I have animated my geo-poems. Having done work on Compact – Let there be lines [here] I figured I had gathered the skills for another project. So – like Paul Klee – I took my line for a walk. Or more properly – I took myself for a walk, used an Iphone app to record the walk and thme used the GPS coordinates to recreate the walk on a computer screen. Figured out how to go from GPS = real-life position to pixels = screen position. Also found a way to make my small texts appear one by one at a predetermined location along the line.
Anyways, my geo-poems are now three things at once: poem, map and animation. I like! Captured the idea in a few images below (unreadable, don’t worry, it is Dutch anyway). Click [here] for the video.
