How to be logico-philosophic

Annette IBBAnnette Balkema in concert: discussing ‘how to think straight and argue well’. She had us do a rather interesting exercise last monday. We took a few pages from Wittgenstein’s ‘Tractatus logico-philosophicus’  – dense but very well argued – and she had us fill this piece of reasoning in with our own words.

This we did – with varying degrees of success. It made me realise that I have to define ‘art’  ‘play’ and ‘game’  better & use them more consitently in the research essay I am now engaged on.  Hard to be logical, consistent, but also deliver an essay that will be a good read. Wittgenstein’s book is not exactly holiday literature itself.
