Villa Augustus

Seville isn’t the only city in the world that has whimsical structures in pretty gardens. I had the opportunity yesterday to re-visit Villa Augustus in Dordrecht, a hotel-restaurant-garden shop  located in and around the former water tower in Dordrecht. The garden has a great mix of herbs, fruit, vegetables, also an Alhambra-style rill and a stone wall made of fragments. I always pick up ideas there – this time it was ivy in pots, shaped into balls. And a decorative way to store terracotta pots. And the idea to celebrate our 40-years-together anniversary at the hotel here. I wonder if november is a good month for this though. Note: treat us to a night there in august or september, just for the heck of it …
