Eemland Portrait

Am making a long and slow portrait of Eemland, to go with the long history of makeability the area has – roughly 800 years of optimisation where sunlight is turned into calories for human consumption via grass and hay.

To make this portrait I turned an out-of-use milking shed in Eemland into a Camera Obscura. Thus inviting the emptyness of Eemland inside – I fill the shed with emptyness – a nice philosophical twist.

A series of once-an-hour photographs of the Camera Obscura screen, taken over a period of one year, will be turned into a video. I tried out morphing a few images – it looked good on a laptop screen, looked even better on a large screen. To be continued …..
