Another beauty, not from the garden this time but from a bouquet of rather disappointing pionies from the grocery store I frequent. Disappointing, because they were late to flower & lots of buds did not deploy at all. I love peonies with a passion, so this was unsatisfactory indeed. Salvaged what I could by photographing peonies-in-decline. Almost as intriguing as tulips-in-decline – even better maybe? Again: haven’t the foggiest what to do with these pics. Been taking them for years. Tried to paint from the pictures, picture won every time. My painting skills aren’t something to write home about, so this may not be the most intelligent strategy. Am tempted to do embroidery  – I scored a treasure trove of embroidery silks at a second hand market recently, so I’m all set.
