An image in my newspaper (the tennis player) served as a reminder to myself to go and store work by german artist Isabelle Wenzel in my external memory. Met with her work by chance in ‘Het Nutshuis’, an art space in the Hague. She’s in her own photo’s in very convoluted poses, creating surrealistic scenes. She gives herself ten seconds, then the self-timer on her camera clicks. Wonder how many vases she’s managed to shatter? I like the blend of aesthetics and humor in her work.
